CD4034BPWE4, a high performance CMOS 8-stage serial-in/parallel-out shift register, is a logic device from the family of logic - shift registers. Logic - shift registers are well known for their capabilities to store data bits, convert serial binary data into parallel format, and shift data through an entire register. In addition to these well known features, CD4034BPWE4 applications include data storage, transmission and communication.

CD4034BPWE4 consists of eight master-slave flip-flops which provide 8-bit storage register which is clocked by the rising edge of CP input. It provides data transfer from serial-in (D) to serial-out (Q) and parallel-in/parallel-out register. It is designed with power down features and internal counter which can be used to count up to the number of registered bits.

CD4034BPWE4’s working principle is based on the classic D flip-flop logic. This type of flip-flop provides data transfer from serial-in to serial-out.
