CD74HCT112EG4 is a Logic - Flip Flops device that has applications in data and system control. The CD74HCT112EG4 is a dual-input One-Shot which provides a never-ending pulse with a single input. The output pulse width can be controlled by the adjustable R-C time constants. The CD74HCT112EG4 comes with a power supply range from 4.5 to 5.5V and is a low-power device with a typical power dissipation of 140mW when at full-operating speed. It is fabricated in CMOS technology and is available in a 14-pin plastic shrink small-outline package as well as surface-mount packages.The CD74HCT112EG4 has two timing elements, one positive edge-triggered flop and one negative edge-triggered flip-flop. When an input signal applied to the positive-edge triggered flop changes from low to high, the output of the positive edge-triggered flip-flop is directly toggled. The duration of the output pulse is determined by a R-C time constant. The second, a negative edge-triggered flip-flop, also functions on input signals applied to the negative edge-triggered flop. This trigger time is determined by integrating a R-C time constant and an inverter. When the input signal changes from high to low, the output of the negative edge-triggered flip-flop will be directly toggled. The width of the output pulse is determined by the R-C time constant.The outputs of both flip-flops can be combined to one trigger to create a square wave with adjustable pulse width. The combination consists of two R/C timing elements in series and an inverter. When an input signal is applied to the positive edge-triggered flip-flop, the output of the negative edge-triggered flip-flop will be toggled. The length of the resulting square wave is determined by the combined values of the two R-C time constants.The CD74HCT112EG4 can also be used in a clocked mode. In this mode, the positive edge-triggered flip-flop is used as a clock, and the pulse width can be adjusted just as in the clocked mode by programming the R-C timing elements. CD74HCT112EG4 can be used in various applications such as digital control circuits, PC board interconnects, motion controllers, clocks, and communication circuits.
