CFG1EI stands for Configurable 1-Axis Electronic Inclinometer, a type of industrial transducer based on MEMS technology. It can provide contactless measurement of static and dynamic angle, being widely applied in robotics, medical devices, automotive, aerospace and other fields.
CFG1EI is a cavity-type inclined shaft type sensor of multi-dimensional dual-mode measurement and can measure angles with high accuracy. The system comprises a MEMS vibratory inclination sensor, an electronics board and a mounting bracket. The MEMS sensor contains two parts: a MEMS galvanometer and a low-vibration non-magnetic frame.
The core part of a CFG1EI system is the MEMS vibratory inclinometer, which contains a dual-axis acceleration sensor and a gyroscope. The two components are connected to an inertia frame that can detect vibration in the two directions. Due to the resonance of the frame, the output changes when the relative displacement of the two components changes. When the two components are arranged along a line parallel to gravity, the relative displacement leads to the sensing of the inclination angle. The output value is processed by a series of algorithms to ensure the accuracy and stability of the system.
The electronic board functions to keep track of the inclinometer’s output and to perform digital signal processing. It reads the measured angle data from the MEMS sensor, and sends out the readings over a CAN or RS232 communication interface. It also stores and calculate an inclined measurement range according to the user requirements. In addition, the electronics board contains protections for temporary power failure, current overload and reverse inputs.
CFG1EI systems can provide highly reliable and accurate angle measurements, with a settling time of less than 1ms, accuracy of 0.02 degrees, bandwidth of 10-1100Hz, response time of up to 100kHz, linearity of 0.1%, and a low operating temperature of -40℃ to +85℃. While the general resolution of the angle measurement is 0.5 degrees, it can be increased to 0.1 degrees with the use of a digital readout module.
CFG1EI systems are widely used in a large number of industrial applications. In robotics, the system can be used to track a robot’s orientation and position. In medical applications, it is used in the design of medical robots, rehabilitation devices and surgical tools. In automotive applications, it can be used for suspension systems, cruise control and lane departure warning systems. In aircraft, it is used for flight control systems and aircraft structural health monitoring. It has also been found to be useful in many other industries, such as mines, satellites, oil platforms and nuclear power plants.
