CGS3321M is a Clock Generator and Multiplier integrated circuit (IC), designed for generation, multiplication and distribution of clock signals which work with a Multi-Band-of-Frequencies (MBF) technique. It is designed for use in signal processing systems and can be used in applications such as high-speed processors, personal computers, networks, and mobile communication products.

The CGS3321M can generate and multiply any clock signal within a wide range of input frequencies as it is programmable, making it easier and faster to implement in a system. Working Principle

The CGS3321M is a Clock Generator and Multiplier that uses the MBF frequency modulation technique. The MBF technique modulates the main frequency by using a combination of multiple frequency bands to generate the output clock frequency. This results in high frequency accuracy and low jitter/phase noise on the output signal.

The IC consists of three main circuits: an RF divider, an RF multiplier, and a phase-locked loop (PLL). Then the levels of each of the frequency bands is tuned to get the correct output frequency. The RF multiplier multiplies all of the frequency bands simultaneously to increase the frequency. Finally, the PLL serves to keep the output frequency constant.
