Rocker Switches

Application Field

The CN202J62S405PQA is a single pole, double throw (SPDT) rocker switch commonly used on electrical and electronic devices such as washing machines, iPods and microwaves. It is also used on circuit boards, control consoles, and other light to heavy-duty applications. They are designed to handle up to 15A at 120/250VAC and 5A at 250VAC. It is a 16A rated switch, available in illuminated and non-illuminated designs.

Working Principle

When a switch is connected to a circuit, it will either open the connection between two points or close the connection between two points. When the switch is in the open position the circuit connection is broken and the electric current cannot flow. When the switch is in the closed position the circuit connection is made and the electric current can flow.

The CN202J62S405PQA rocker switch can be used as a single control switch or a pair of switches connected in parallel, each with its own set of contacts. When the switch is in the off position, no current will flow. When the switch is in the on position, current will flow through the switch and the contacts. When the switch is in the middle position, the contacts are open and the current will flow through the rocker switch directly.
