Optoisolators, also known as opto-couplers or photo couplers, are devices used to transfer electrical signals between two circuits while isolating them electrically. The CNW135S optoisolator is a transistor and photovoltaic output optoisolator developed by Agiltron. It includes a GaAIAs infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a photovoltaic detector.CNW135S Application Field
The CNW135S device is designed for use in power switching, control systems, signal isolation, computer networking, display and medical equipment, power supplies and other electronic applications. It can be used in applications requiring high isolation voltage, low power, wide operating temperature range, and low capacitance.Working Principle
The working principle of the CNW135S optoisolator is based on the photovoltaic effect. It consists of an infrared light emitting diode connected to an input power source and a photovoltaic detector connected to an output power source.When an input signal is applied to the CNW135S, the IRED will emit infrared light which will be detected by the photovoltaic detector. The photovoltaic detector then produces an output signal which is proportional to the input signal.The main benefit of optoisolators is their ability to provide higher-voltage isolation between the two circuits while still transferring the electrical signal between them. This allows the CNW135S to isolate signals between two circuits at voltages up to 9000Vrms.Conclusion
