The CNW84300 photovoltaic output optoisolators (OPTO-isolators) are open-collector, digital-output optoisolators with a digital output operating voltage range from 0.9 to 16V, and which provides 40kV/μs minimum common mode noise immunity. CNW84300 OPTO-isolators offer high photodetector sensitivity coupled with low forward current (ILD) requirements, providing highly reliable results even under difficult conditions. The CNW84300 SO8 has a 4.5V to 16V operating voltage range. The LED source features an operating voltage range of 0.9V to 4V.

Application Field

CNW84300 is used to electrically isolate he differential side interface from the I/O side of power applications. Its main applications include:

  • High voltage protection of common mode and differential mode with on-board differential power source
  • Power line off-hook protection with on-board differential power supplies.

Working Principle

The CNW84300 is a digital optocoupler composed of an LED and a photodetector. When the LED is energized, its light output reaches a photoreceptor and passes through a small hole in the protective wall of the optocoupler. When the light is detected by the photographs, a current is induced in the photodetector, and the signal detected by the photodetector is transmitted to the output of the CNW84300 optocoupler.The photodetector in the CNW84300 OPTO-isolator has a fast response time, low power led, and provides visual output signals that can be directly connected to logic or microcontroller.
