COP8SGR740N8 is an external scan microcontroller which belongs to the 8-bit external scan microcontroller series of the COP8 family produced by National Semiconductor. This device is widely used in embedded applications. Its processor core is a proprietary superscalar Harvard architecture with a 8-bit data bus and 16-bit address space, also featuring a host of integrated peripherals such as programable digital I/O, ADCs, timers, comparators and more.COP8SGR740N8 is an ideal choice for applications which demand flexibility and exceptional system performance. It can operate from 1V to 3.3V, and can be driven from 2.7V to 5.5V. It also offer a very rich set of features such as up to 128K Program memory, up to 4K RAM, up to 6K of EEPROM with two-wire serial interface, and up to four synchronized event timers.The numerous features and flexibility of COP8SGR740N8 makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. It is used in instrumentation and data acquisition systems, industrial controllers, home appliances, real-time environmental monitoring, automotive systems, and medical instruments, among many others. It is also used in a variety of embedded applications, including motor control and battery management systems, communication devices, and image processing.The working principle of COP8SGR740N8 is based on the external scan design of the processor core. It consists of three main components: the Power Management Unit (PMU), the Data Flow Unit (DFU) and themicroprocessor.
