Working Principle

CPC1465M consists of a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), a Router and a Plug-in Network Interface Card (PNIC). The DSLAM connects the customer’s xDSL line to the Access Network. The Router keeps track of the data traffic and routes the xDSL traffic to and from the customer premises. The PNIC provides the Ethernet interface for the customer network.When a customer requests an xDSL service, the DSLAM acts as an interface between the xDSL line and the Router. The Router then authenticates the xDSL connection and assigns it an IP address. Once the connection is established, the Router forwards the xDSL traffic to the customer’s network.The PNIC provides the customer’s network with an Ethernet interface. This interface helps to reduce latency and provides a reliable connection between the customer premises and the Access Network.The Router also ensures quality of service (QoS) for the customer’s xDSL traffic. It monitors the connection and makes sure that the data is delivered without any delays or loss.
