CR5F-080 BK is a type of diode-rectifier, more specifically a single diode, classified by its main properties - recovery time, average rectified forward current, peak repetitive reverse voltage, single pulse surge forward current and junction temperature. This type of diode has a great variety of applications, one of them being rectification in power supplies. The power source has its DC output smoothed and then added to the rectifier circuit; the altered output can be either pulsating DC or a filter design, to provide steady DC.

The forward voltage drop of the diode is determined by minor losses in the diode layer and it is 0.7V for this type of diode.
