CS4391A-KZZR Application Field and Working PrincipleThe CS4391A-KZZR is an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter from Cirrus Logic and Bel Fuse, Inc. It is a single-channel, 16-bit, low-power Stereo A/D converter. The CS4391A-KZZR is designed for use in digital audio systems, to convert high-resolution analog audio signals to 16-bit digital audio. It is typically used in Professional and Consumer Audio applications, such as studio recording and playback, karaoke systems, musical instruments, and home theater systems. It is mainly used in data acquisition and audio recording/playback applications as a specialized A/D converter, operating on a single +5V power supply. The CS4391A-KZZR also features a unique architecture to provide high performance and low power consumption using a hybrid Class-D architecture. The CS4391A-KZZR provides a high-precision, low-power data acquisition solution for a wide range of applications. The CS4391A-KZZR consists of a 16-bit, single-channel, low-power stereo A/D converter, with an integrated FFT and DSP processor. It is designed for use with a system clock of 96 kHz, with a dynamic range of up to 99.5 dB. It can handle a signal bandwidth of 40 kHz. Its input impedance is more than 63 Kohm and its maximum input level is 20 dBu. The device also has an output impedance of 100 ohms and is capable of operating at sampling rates up to 100 kHz. The CS4391A-KZZR uses a two-step conversion process, where an on-chip analogue-to-digital (A/D) sample-and-hold circuit converts the analogue signal to a digital representation. An on-chip digital-to-analogue (D/A) converter interpolates the digital samples to achieve higher resolution. The A/D-to-D/A conversion is carried out by a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) Engine, which operates on a 56-bit data bus.
