CS5173ED8G is a 8V, 1.2A output, 3-channel, low output-voltage switching step-down regulators by TI. From the family of DC-DC switching regulators, this is a highly integrated power management IC (PMIC) with a wide range of applications. It is used to provide high-efficiency, high-speed and low noise power solutions for consumer electronics, portable computing, automotive, communications, aerospace and industrial systems. The components of this IC are intended to work in a wide range of applications, including but not limited to: PMIC, voltage regulators, LCD backlights, mobile phones and digital cameras.
The working principle of this PMIC is based on the key technologies of voltage regulation and current regulation. This switch-mode power supply employs an integrated circuit to optionally reduce an input voltage to a lower regulated output voltage. It can also provide variable current output which can be controlled by the user through a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal. Its internal components are optimized for stability and safety. They are also designed to reduce the power requirements and cost of the entire system by taking advantage of the low-power, efficient and reliable switching techniques.
The CS5173ED8G features a wide Voltage Regulator Array (VRA) that supports a wide range of input voltage from 4.5V to 13.2V, a maximum output current of 1.2A, a maximum switching frequency of 1MHz, and a wide output voltage range from 0.5V to 6.5V. Its low-noise ripple and jitterless switching offers reduced EMI emissions and improved system reliability, which are ideal for portable device applications.
