The CS8129YTHA5G Linear Regulators (LDOs) offer high-end performance, extremely low dropout and wide thermal range for advanced power management applications. The CS8129YTHA5G is a wide-input, low quiescent current (15mA), low-dropout voltage regulator suitable for many applications such as point-of-load convergence and active current limiting. This LDO utilizes a capacitive-resonant network for improved transient response, fast step-load rejection and excellent power supply rejection ratio (PSRR). It features a wide range of protection features, such as adjustable current limiting, thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection.

Working Principle

The CS8129YTHA5G is designed using cutting-edge technology to provide superior performance. This LDO utilizes a low-dropout voltage regulator, an input voltage feedback loop, with an adjustable current and over-temperature protection. This LDO can be used for output voltage regulation ranging from 0.8V to 3.3V, with a fast transient response under load step transitions.

The input voltage goes through a voltage divider circuit and feedback loop to the feedback pin of the adjustable current limited and over-temperature protection stages. The over-temperature protection circuitry provides a maximum current limit at high ambient temperatures and also provides a hysteresis function to avoid frequent tripping at high temperature range. The output current limiting is controlled by the current limit adjust pin of the LDO. The pin allows programming of the maximum current up to the specified limit and provides overload protection for the system.

The CS8129YTHA5G is also equipped with an active current limitation stage and an internal low-noise compensation network, which allows for good line transient response and excellent PSRR. The active current limit protects the LDO from excessive currents, ensuring maximum system reliability.

The CS8129YTHA5G has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial, automotive, and other high-temperature applications. The LDO also features a low quiescent current of 15mA and a wide input voltage range of 3.3V to 30V, providing the flexibility to meet the requirements of various applications.
