Trimmer Potentiometers is a common application in the electronic industry. It is used to adjust the resistance, thereby changing the current voltage in the circuit. It is a three-terminal device typically having a knob located at the top of the device.

CT9P103 is a three terminal TO-220 package trimmer potentiometers (precision Pot). The device is a high-performance trimmer potentiometers for applications requiring precise and consistent adjustment. It is capable of attenuating and controlling the current through a circuit.

CT9P103 is mainly used for applications such as voltage/current regulation, electronic winding, zero-temperature protection, high-power LED current balancing, high-precision instrument control, and motor current control.

The working principle of CT9P103 is that when the voltage applied to the output terminal of trimmer potentiometers is larger than the voltage of input terminal, the current will flow in a certain direction.

The inner resistance of CT9P103 is adjustable, thus can control the current of the circuit, which will be adjusted according to the user’s request after adjustment. Along with the resistance of the device increases, the potential difference between the two terminals will be decreased, thus decreasing the current through the device.

The three terminals can be divided into two parts, one is used to adjust the middle variable resistance, and the other is used to connect with circuit. The two fixed electrodes of each trimmer can form a resistance, and by adjusting the adjustable one, the voltage divider\'s output voltage can be adjusted. Generally speaking, when compared to other types of resistors, the adjustable resistance of trimmer is larger, usually it varies from tens to hundreds of Ω.

CT9P103 is composed of three electrodes, constituting a sensitive adjustable resistor, and it is usually used in small signal, precise current sensing, and voltage divider circuit with other components.
