It can be used for controlling both AC and DC power supplies.Working Principle of CTRD6025The CTRD6025 contactor is comprised of four series-connected Silicon-Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs). When the power is applied, the trip terminals of the contactor send a signal to the SCRs which then start conducting, and current is sent to the load. The contactor then works as an omnipolar switch, allowing or prohibiting the current from passing through the load.The trip terminal operates in two different modes, depending on the load control strategy chosen. When the current is below the set value, the SCRs or triacs in contactor are activated when a timing signal is given from the trip unit. After that, a fractional part of the load current is measured, as a result, the SCRs or triacs in contactor will be activated to give a reducing voltage drop, which results into controlling the load current and regulating it.For the load control strategy, the contactor is set to automatic adjustment mode. In this mode, if the load current is above the set limit, the SCR or triac in contactor will be deactivated, leading to the motor automatically tripping and achieving the desired current control.In conclusion, the CTRD6025 contactor is a reliable solution for tasks requiring current regulation and switching off the same load.
