CTS100ELT23TG Application Field and Working Principle

The CTS100ELT23TG is a member of the Logic-Translators, Level Shifters family, designed to provide a conversion from 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3 Volt inputs to 3.3 Volt outputs. These devices contain ultra low power consumption and have CMOS-like drive. The output switches between ground or Vcc, connecting to the input voltage.

The CTS100ELT23TG is used in various application fields, including battery operated and handheld medical, industrial and consumer devices, embedded systems, automotive, and communications. Some examples of these applications are sensors, thermostats, remote controls, data collection, factory automation, powerline communication, automotive controllers, and safety systems. The CTS100ELT23TG’s working principle is based on using a series of logic gates to convert input voltage signals into logic level signals with “true” or “false” outputs to match the input voltage. The CTS100ELT23TG supports both edge-triggered as well as level-sensitive transmission modes. In edge-triggered mode, when the input voltage crosses a certain threshold it triggers the logic gates to respond, whereas in level-sensitive mode, the logic gates will respond only when the input voltage reaches or stays at the same level as the threshold. Additionally, the device is designed to allow the user to control how long the output shifts between states, so that the transition time can be adjusted to match the specific application being used.

The CTS100ELT23TG is also designed to provide up to 1A of continuous current and has an operating temperature range from -25°C to +85°C. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from those in extreme temperatures to those in industrial settings.
