CTX33-1P is an array of signal transformers suitable for measuring current or voltage in applications where strongly varying and often low AC or DC voltage is present.The array is divided into four arms, each of which contains one, two, or three smaller CTX33-1Ps wired in parallel with each other. Each CTX33-1P has two terminals and can be wired as a ‘one-terminal-ground’ transformer, providing a current measurement of up to 100 amps, or as a two-terminal transformer, measuring both current and voltage.Each arm of a CTX33-1P array has a total of seven cores arranged in a horizontal row. The cores are made from strands of copper, aluminum or stainless steel, which have been power-coated. The cores are electrically connected to the array’s main transformer, which is then connected to a terminal strip for connection to the external circuit.The turn-ratio of the transformer (e.g. 40:1) is determined by the number of turns of wire that are wound around the core and can be adjusted to suit the intended application. The number of turns is determined by the turns-per-volt ratio set on the transformer.Once all the cores have been connected, the transformer can be “stepped up” or “stepped down”, depending on the type of application. The stepped-up voltage is then applied to the load and the current is collected by the array’s main transformer, allowing for reliable and accurate measurement.In applications where current is to be measured more precisely, special current transformers such as the CTX33-1P can be very useful. The current transformers are designed to be less sensitive to ‘transformer power loss’, which occurs when combining several transformers in parallel.The output voltage on the current transformers will remain steady and will have little influence from noise. This makes the CTX33-1P array ideal for applications where accuracy is critical. It is widely used in applications such as motor controllers, industrial equipment, or other applications that need current or voltage measurements with high accuracy.CTX33-1P arrays are also designed to provide a low level of insulation resistance. This is important for applications where an accurate and reliable voltage signal is required while limiting the stress to the device itself.The CTX33-1P array is a reliable and accurate method for measuring current.
