CWMPV2340 is a dynamic range peak voltage monitoring instrument recommended by the Australian Technical Standards Authority (TSA) for medium voltage electricity services. It is designed in accordance with Design Rule DR1061, Installation Standard AS3000, Low Voltage Electrical Standards AS/NZS3000, and the Safety Standard AS/NZS3012.The instrument is a representation of a voltage waveform which is used to measure the peak voltage of an electrical circuit. The measured waveform is then compared with an upper and lower voltage threshold, which is adjustable by the user at start-up. The output of the instrument is an onboard LED indication of when the voltage is above, below or within the user-defined limits of the threshold.The device can be used in both domestic and industrial applications for the purpose of identifying and protecting electrical circuits from surges due to lightning and switching induced transients. The peak voltage monitor can also be used for general monitoring of electrical systems to prevent the occurrence of dangerous over-voltage conditions or to ensure that voltage levels remain within operationally safe levels.The CWMPV2340 is generally used in applications such as power distribution systems, residential dwellings, industrial installations, communications and data transfer facilities, and in laboratory and research facilities.The device is composed of the following components:The sensing core consists of ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) which is responsible for sensing electrical signals, Amplifier & Comparator chain used for signal amplification and comparison, a rectifier which is responsible for signal rectification, an adjustable voltage reference (Vref) module, and an output circuit.The sensing core provides an accurate peak voltage monitoring output to the onboard LED, as well as the signal output pin, which can be used to trigger on/off cycles of other equipment.The device has a wide range of operating conditions and is stable over a wide temperature range (-20°C to +70°C). In addition, it has a wide operating voltage (DC 12V-400V). It also has high immunity to EMC (electro-magnetic compatibility) and low EMI (electro-magnetic interference).The device has a self-protection mechanism, which turns off after extended inactivity.
