CWR11MH105KC capacitors’ working principle is based on an anode made of porous sintered sintered tantalum powder that has not been fired and is filled with manganese dioxide. The anode is surrounded by a conductive solid layer of tantalum that separates the anode from the liquid electrolyte and thus forms a dielectric layer. When a voltage is applied across the capacitor, the electric field causes the liquid electrolyte to permeate the porous dielectric layer where it forms an electric double layer and stores electric energy. The chemical reaction between the electrolyte and the manganese dioxide releases oxide ions which diffuse across the oxide layer and form an insulating layer that blocks the flow of electrons and prevents reverse bias from occurring.
