Oscillators are devices that produce an electrical signal that oscillates between two nodes even after the energy source of the device is disabled. In this sense, they are widely used in both scientific and practical applications, such as resonators, timers and clocks, frequency divider, phase-locked loops, as well as a multitude of control and instrumentation devices. One such oscillator is the CWX823-027.0M, which has its own specific application field and working principle.

The oscillator circuitry determines the shape of the output waveform, allowing it to generate a triangular or a square waveform at the frequency defined by the quartz crystal.
