CY2213ZXC-2 Application Field and Working Principle
The CY2213ZXC-2 is a high-precision Frequency Synthesizer Clock Generator and Programmable Divider designed by Cypress Semiconductor. Working Principle
The CY2213ZXC-2 consists of a Frequency-Locked Loop Subsystem and two user-programmable divider chains, referred to as Divider1 and Divider2. The FLL Subsystem is composed of a reference time base, a VCO, a phase detector, a charge pump and a loop filter. This is used to generate the desired output frequency. The VCO is tuned by two adjustable registers to provide a wide range of frequencies.
Divider1 provides four user-programmable divide ratios which can be used to divide down the main VCO Output frequency or any other available reference frequency. Divider2 provides only two divide ratios, which are used to divide the output from Divider1. This provides additional flexibility to create more complex frequency dividers. The dividers can be cascaded, provided that the sum of the two dividers is limited to hertz to 4 Hz.
The CY2213ZXC-2 can be programmed for low jitter, wide spread spectrum and large-division frequency synthesis. This speed control loop will operate as frequency synthesizer with low jitter and fast frequency hopping. It also includes manual calibration, allowing the user to program the offset and gain of the VCO, while supporting a wide selection of frequencies.
The main features of the CY2213ZXC-2 include integrated PLL, Digital Divide and Synchronizer, Fast Lock-up Time (Less than 0.2s) and High Frequency Resolution (Down to 1 Hz).
