CY2305CSXI-1H is a baseband signal source designed for high performance applications such as wireless communications and signal processing. This signal source is ideal for applications requiring digital intermediate frequency (IF) signal generation with fast signal synchronization, digital amplitude and frequency modulation, as well as dynamic signal acquisition. The CY2305CSXI-1H is a programmable signal source with a wide range of applications. It includes a main signal output, one reference input, one reference output, and one auxiliary signal output. Its features and versatility make it suitable for many applications such as communications, signal processing, data acquisition, test and measurement, and device characterization.

Working Principle

The CY2305CSXI-1H is based on a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) and an analog phase-lock loop (PLL) circuit while achieving superior performance. The output signal is generated by the DDS architecture which is designed to produce both analog and digitally synthesized signals. The DDS is controlled by the SCIBus, a high speed digital interface which allows for rapid tuning, adjustable signal parameters, and rapid and accurate reads of the output signal parameters. Additionally, the DDS architecture processes the output signals to modulate the signal parameter settings, adding further flexibility to the signal source.The PLL circuit synthesizes both a reference clock and a frequency locked clock. The reference clock is used to both clock the DDS and act as a reference to the PLL. The output of the PLL is then used to drive the analog modulation stages of the signal source, providing adjustable phase and frequency modulation.
