CY2308SXI-3 is a high performance clock generator, PLL and frequency synthesizer specifically designed to improve system clock performance and simplify board-level design to support faster processing speeds in a variety of clock applications.The performance of the CY2308SXI-3 exceeds those of other commercially available devices and offers a combination of features not found in other clock solutions. The CY2308SXI-3 is a low noise, low jitter, low power clock generator and synthesizer that utilizes multiple internal and external reference clocks. It can generate a wide range of frequencies and clock outputs (e.g., 25MHz to 400MHz and 6V to 3.3V). The CY2308SXI-3 offers four selectable reference frequencies (25MHz, 50MHz, 100MHz and 200MHz), two configurable PLLs, a 200MHz divider for clock divide-by-two outputs and fully programmable output buffers. On board features include an on board reference oscillator, integrated voltage regulator with an active clamp, USB interface and an on board temperature sensor.The CY2308SXI-3 incorporates a wide range of features to simplify board-level designs and improve performance. These features include multiple user configurable settings, such as low-power modes, frequency locking/bandwidth detection, configuration of the operating temperature range and pre-calibration of the clock output buffers. In addition, the CY2308SXI-3 provides a watchdog timer, which helps to detect and protect against any possible system-level issues or glitches in the clock chain. The CY2308SXI-3 is easy to use and the onboard features make it ideal for use in multimedia, telecom, consumer and industrial applications. It is also designed to be compatible with numerous common buses such as PCI Express, SATA and Ethernet. The CY2308SXI-3 is based on a highly integrated clock architecture which is designed for low power and minimal jitter. It utilizes an adaptive FFF (Fast Fourier Frequency) architecture which incorporates a high-order DO loop filter, a multiple-reference clock chopper and a programmable clock-divider chain. This architecture allows the clock to track multiple reference clocks and dynamically adjust the output clock frequency based on the input reference clock. The output clock frequency of the CY2308SXI-3 can be programmed from 25MHz to 400MHz with a resolution of 0.25MHz in integer mode. In addition, the output frequency can be divided down by an integer value resulting in divide-by two, four and eight outputs in both integer and fractional modes. The CY2308SXI-3 also incorporates two configurable PLLs for wide-frequency synthesizing capability with low jitter and low noise.The onboard features include an on board reference oscillator, integrated voltage regulator with an active clamp, USB interface and an on board temperature sensor. The on board temperature sensor allows the CY2308SXI-3 to operate over a wide range of temperatures, up to 105°°C. The integrated voltage regulator and active clamp provide a stable output voltage to the clock outputs. The USB interface allows the user to program the device in real time while the device is in operation, without the need for an external programmer or PC.The CY2308SXI-3 is a highly integrated and scalable clock solution, specifically designed to improve system clock performance and simplify board-level design. The comprehensive feature set and integrated peripherals combine to make the CY2308SXI-3 an ideal solution for use in high performance clock applications.
