CY24902ZXC is an integrated circuit designed for Clock/Timing – Clock Generators, PLLs and Frequency Synthesizers applications. It is a highly integrated and low power programmable clock generator and is used in high-performance, high-speed data communication systems. The CY24902ZXC is a CMOS integrated circuit built with a versatile digital cell array and an array of control logic. The integrated circuit works by generating an output clock signal with relatively high frequency which is then converted to a lower frequency by dividing the frequency down to the desired frequency for use in clocks, timing, communications and data synchronization applications.
The CY24902ZXC includes a main divider with a programmable input frequency range from 0.1 MHz to 150 MHz. This main divider allows the output clock frequency to be set to any frequency within the range of 0.1MHz to 150 MHz. The main divider can be configured as any divide-by-2, divide-by-4, divide-by-8 and divide-by-16 counter. This makes the CY24902ZXC suitable for clock and timing applications with wide range of output frequencies. The CY24902ZXC provides a built-in phase-locked loop (PLL) for synchronizing with an external reference clock input. The PLL is responsible for ensuring that the main divider\'s output frequency is phase-aligned with the input reference clock.
The CY24902ZXC is also equipped with a programmable output divider to further divide down the frequency from the main divider\'s output. It consists of four sections: a 2-bit counter for low frequencies and 3-bit counters for higher frequencies. Each counter can be programmed to divide the frequency further by a value of either 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, or 128. This allows a total divider range of 1 to 65536.
The CY24902ZXC also has a programmable delay line which can be used to set the desired delay for the output clock signal. This allows the output frequency to be set precisely to the desired delay and frequency. The programmable delay line is composed of a 4-bit delay register. The values of this register can be programmed to have a delay of between 0 to 255 cycles. This allows for a wide range of frequencies to be set for the output clock signal.
The CY24902ZXC also includes a built-in power management system to reduce power during idle periods.
