CY26121KZI-21T is a frequency synthesizer which is capable of generating highly frequency-accurate outputs over an input frequency range of 10 MHz to 800 MHz. It is used to provide high frequency outputs for uses such as radio frequency (RF) transmitters and receivers, high speed digital peripherals, and base station systems.
In order to get exact frequency, the output frequency is determined by a phase-locked loop (PLL). It is capable of providing frequency synthesis accuracy of up to 0.2% over the entire frequency range. In addition, it supports low-noise operation and wide frequency tuning range that permit wider application. The device is integrated with an on-chip frequency doubler that doubles the frequency output of the PLL, giving users at least double the output frequency they specify. A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) is also integrated within the device to generate the base frequency.
The CY26121KZI-21T uses a fractional-N divider and an analog digital converter to obtain an exact division rate thus creating an exact output frequency. The fractional-N technology is able to realize frequency division without the limitation of the power of 2. The up/down Counters divide the signals of VCOfrequency. Even if there is a slight mismatch between the input frequency and target frequency, the PLL would adjust its division ratio to get the exact output frequency.
In addition, the CY26121KZI-21T also supports low noise and wide frequency tuning range. It is designed to provide excellent jitter and phase noise performance with kHz offset from the output frequency. Its low-noise amplifier (LNA) supports a wide frequency tuning range from 110 MHz to 800 MHz.
