CY2XP22ZXCT are versatile clock/timing sources built with Silicon Labs\' proprietary SiliconX™ family of 2.5V Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators (VCXOs). CY2XP22ZXCT are capable of providing a wide range of operating frequencies up to 800MHz. The added benefit of CY2XP22ZXCT is that they offer clock outputs with extremely low jitter and with no setup or hold times. CY2XP22ZXCT provides a reliable source of clock and timing, ideal for communication applications.
The CY2XP22ZXCT has two channels, a Main Channel and a Subchannel. The Main Channel provides the basic clock output while the Subchannel provides an auxiliary clock output. The Main Channel is designed to provide a wide range of clock frequencies. The CY2XP22ZXCT is fully programmable and can be used with either an external programmable input, or an internal register. The Main Channel can be programmed to provide clock frequencies ranging from 10 kHz to 800 MHz.
The Subchannel is designed to be used either as an asynchronous or a synchronous downstage clock, or as an interrupt control. This output can be used to divide the frequency of the Main clock by an integer or by a power of two. The Subchannel will also allow for a pseudo-random sequence of bits that can be used as a very accurate time base throughout a system. The CY2XP22ZXCT supports a wide range of output formats including skewed SMA, LVDS, and PCIe.
The CY2XP22ZXCT can be used in various applications including network timing and synchronization, digital video encoding/decoding, embedded control, clock and data recovery, voice and video communications,gigabit Ethernet PHYs, hard disk drive controllers, test and measurement products, and more. The CY2XP22ZXCT also supports a wide range of output formats including SMA, LVDS, and PCIe.
In addition to its features, the CY2XP22ZXCT also works on a zerocross switching principle. This feature enables rapid frequency synchronization and allows for very accurate timing control. The performance of the CY2XP22ZXCT is enhanced further by its adjustableoutput voltage and temperature compensation. This feature ensures that the output frequency does not vary significantly when the operating temperatures are outside of the normal range.
The CY2XP22ZXCT is designed to handle temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The CY2XP22ZXCT also features two calibration pins that allow the user to adjust the output frequency of the clock in order to optimize the performance of their system. This is especially important for applications that require a precise and consistent frequency.
