The RF Evaluation Board commonly known as CY3631 is a comprehensive and configurable board featuring the CY3681 ULP WirelessUSB-LP product family of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for low-power, short-range wireless connectivity in secure and reliable human interface device(HID) applications. With the board, wireless developers can quickly evaluate, prototype, and debug designs without having to develop their own complex test suites and circuitry. By providing an integrated solution for implementing and configuring low-power wireless connectivity within a device, the CY3631 helps engineers to bring their designs to market faster and easier.

The CY3631 provides engineers a cost effective way to evaluate and develop wireless connectivity for simple HID applicationswith excellent performance. Featuring an ultra-low-power RF transceiver and powerful integrated MCU, it enables the user to evaluate the performance of the the CY3681 ULP WirelessUSB-LP Radio-on-Chip (RoC). The CY3681 family of products includes dozens of transceivers which support various frequency bands, making them ideal for worldwide industrial, medical, automotive, and consumer markets.

The CY3631evaluation board features a comprehensive set of user-friendly interfaces that support several RF/Wireless communications protocols. These include Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, IEEE802.15.4, Wi-Fi, and also proprietary protocols. All the necessary components such as the reset logic, battery monitor, no-load detector, buttons, LEDs, displays, RF test ports, IO pins, and programming pins are integrated on the board. This makes it ideal for prototyping and testing wireless products that require short-range, low-power, or near-field RF communication such as a Bluetooth keyboard, a remote-control car, a wireless audio player, and so on.

The CY3631 provides two USB ports for power supply and communication. The CY3681 RF controller integrates a powerful 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor to execute the device communication and control functions. To complement the processor, it also has a plethora of analog, digital, and real-time clock (RTC) peripherals. Additional CY3631features include Secure Boot support, a battery-backed RTC to enable long term data logging, and up to 64KB of shared EEPROM for storage purposes.

The CY3631evaluation board supports several development environments such as the IAR Integrated Development Environment (IDE), and the Keil uVision IDE. The CY3631 can be easily configured and programmed either via the IAR IDE or the Keil uVision software. Cypress also provides a range of development tools such as the Wireless Analyzer, Radio-Coverage Analyzer, Energy Analyzer, Board Test Suite, and more to help customers evaluate, debug, and measure their designs.

The CY3631 is an incredibly flexible solution that allows customers to evaluate wireless standards, proprietary protocols, and add-on modules such as ZigBee, Z-Wave, etc. Customers can develop their own custom applications with the integrated development tools and easily test, verify, and optimize their designs.
