CY3687 is a reference design board that can be used to evaluate and demonstrate a variety of applications. The board is based on Cypress’s EZ-USB FX2LP™ USB microcontroller and includes a wide range of USB, PC and web interfaces. It also features a complete set of peripherals and an open-source development environment.

The board supports the USB 2.0 high-speed transfer rate specification and is compatible with Windows® and Mac OS X®. It has a USB port for connecting a PC or other peripherals, and can be used for a variety of applications such as an Internet of Things (IoT) gateway, USB-to-UART adapter, or a Human Interface Device (HID). Furthermore, the board is also capable of providing an appropriate voltage level for the connection of a number of different sensors.

The board also provides an IIC (inter-integrated circuit) connection port to connect with other products. The IIC connection port supports up to 400K IIC compatible devices, allowing multiple IIC devices to be connected to the board simultaneously.

The board also supports the CySmart™ Bluetooth® low energy protocol for quick and secure communication. This communication protocol utilizes the over-the-air packets that devices in a network can use to communicate with each other, allowing them to collaborate with each other and making it possible to develop applications such as wireless health and home automation. The board also provides a bus power switch that can be used to allow the board to provide up to 4A current.

CY3687 incorporates a wide range of peripherals that can be used to develop various applications. This includes a USB physical layer device including transceivers and protocol controllers, a scalable Event Link Processor (ELP), a timer, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and comparator, pulse-width modulation (PWM), and a full-speed digital-to-fixed-link bridge (DCPLL).

Moreover, the board is also equipped with the Cypress Software Development Kit (SDK) which allows users to write custom firmware applications. The SDK uses the popular C language and includes features such as a GUI-based Configuration Tool, code refactoring, and source-level debugging. With the SDK, users can easily develop their own custom firmware for the board.
