Working Principle

The working principle behind this module is quite simple. This module is equipped with four bus transceivers that are connected to four 8.5 GHz serialisers. Each of the serialisers is coupled to its own laser driver and laser diode which output an optical signal over a single-mode fiber at a wavelength of 850nm. A receiver is also included in the module that allows the module to receive optical signals from the network.The core of the module is its SERDES module, which is responsible for data conversion from its serialiser-deserialiser module. It converts serial digital electrical signals into parallel electrical signals and also performs detections on the received signals from the optical channel. The SERDES module is also responsible for data rate management, error detection and correction for the transmitted signals.
