D7AC is a new type of power supply device developed by the US Department of Energy to coordinate Demand 7 (D7) and wind and solar energy sources. It is designed to meet the KW-level power requirements for large grid systems. D7AC mainly includes permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), boost rectifier converter and current source rectifier converter. It adopts a novel control algorithm to synthesize the control signals of the two inverters, thus achieving the purpose of flexible and stable power flow in the grid.
The application fields of D7AC are divided into two parts based on the electrical characteristics of the power supply device. The first part is power supply system for motor or load, and the second part is three-phase AC/DC bi-directional power transmission. This device is widely used in the power supply system for various electrical components, such as motors, personal computers, and solar cells, as well as power transmission between AC/DC. In addition, D7AC can also be used in the system of energy storage and peak shifting system.
The working principle of D7AC is based on the DC bus voltage output by the permanent magnet synchronous machine. Permanent magnet synchronous machine is an electricity machine powered by DC voltage. By controlling the permanent magnet synchronous machine, the output voltage can be adjusted according to the desired voltage of the AC side. The rectifier has two outputs, one is a boost converter and the other is a current source rectifier. The boost converter takes the voltage output from the permanent magnet synchronous machine as the input and converts it into a high voltage. The current source rectifier will then convert the voltage from the boost converter into AC, and then use the current source inverter to convert it into AC and output the high voltage to the AC load. The D7AC system uses a control algorithm to synthesize the control signals of two inverters. The system is designed to allow the DC bus voltage to follow the normal sinusoidal waveform. This prevents the permanent magnet synchronous machine from being overloaded and therefore achieving a more efficient operation.
In summary, D7AC is a new type of power supply device developed to coordinate Demand 7 (D7) and wind and solar energy sources. It has two types of application fields, motor or load power supply and three-phase AC/DC bi-directional power transmission. Its working principle is based on a control algorithm to synthesize the control signals of two inverters, and it can be used to achieve a more efficient operation.
