Pressure sensors, transducers and D8M-D82 application field and working principle Pressure sensors, also known as pressure transducers, are devices that measure the force of pressure over an area. A pressure sensor is able to detect pressure differences between two points in a system and output an analog signal that is proportional to the pressure difference. Pressure sensors are used in a wide variety of industrial and medical applications. The D8M-D82 is a pressure transducer manufactured by Honeywell Sensing and Control. It is built with a solid-state transducer element that is fabricated from high-temperature, hermetic metal diaphragm materials. The transducer incorporates several features that enable it to accurately measure very low pressure ranges and offer high-accuracy over wide temperature ranges. The D8M-D82 pressure transducer is used in a variety of fields, such as marine, electrical, and medical industries. Some of its applications include monitoring pressure in storage tanks, seismology, deep-sea exploration, and underground exploration. It is ideal for use in pressurized filter systems and vacuum systems. In its simplest application, the D8M-D82 uses a thin steel diaphragm as a pressure piston. This piston is designed to detect pressure-induced changes in the strain of the diaphragm and output accurate pressure measurements accordingly. Its signal conditioning circuit amplifies this small pressure variation and outputs a proportional voltage that is proportional to the input pressure. To measure low pressure, the D8M-D82 features a diffused-bridge strain gage circuit. The diffused-bridge strain gage is made up of four resistors, two of which are active and two of which are inactive. When there is a pressure difference between the two active resistor sections, the circuit produces an output voltage proportional to the pressure difference and thus an accurate pressure measurement. The D8M-D82 is designed to operate over a wide temperature range and is immune to minor vibration. It also features a top and bottom port for easy installation. It is a reliable and accurate pressure transducer with a high accuracy of 0.025% FS of full scale. The D8M-D82 is an ideal choice for pressure measurement applications requiring high accuracy over a wide range of temperatures and is suitable for a variety of applications. It provides accurate pressure readings even in low-pressure environments and has excellent temperature compensation capabilities.
