DA14581UNDB-P is a Radio Frequency (RF) Evaluation and Development Kit, Board developed by Texas Instruments for low power Bluetooth® low energy applications. It consists of integrated hardware and software components to provide developers with a platform to develop and test low power Bluetooth low energy applications. It is also known as the BLE-Stack Evaluation Kit, which includes a CC2560A RF evaluation board with integrated RF radio transceiver and antenna, a DA1458x Arm® Cortex®-M4 MCU module, and an unlimited free access to the BLE-Stack stack software for advanced development, demonstration and evaluation. The DA14581UNDB-P board is intended to be used as a complete integrated platform for rapid Bluetooth low energy application development. It incorporates a CC2560A RF transceiver, DA1458x Cortex M4 and CC2564BT dual-mode Bluetooth low energy System-on-Chip (SoC), as well as on-board debugger and protective circuitry.The ATBTLCS004 is the Bluetooth low energy RF Evaluation and Development Kit for the DA14581UNDB-P board, and is specifically designed to enable rapid prototyping of Bluetooth low energy applications. The kit incorporates an industry-standard Cable Interface (CIB) for the DA1458x MCU module. CIB has standard interfaces for JTAG, UART, SPI, I2C, as well as power and data lines. In addition to the included transceiver board, the kit contains software, documentation and demonstration firmware for rapid application development.The DA14581UNDB-P is a low-power Bluetooth low energy transceiver Board, with a maximum transmitted power of +3.5dBm. This transceiver Board is capable of providing BLE packet sizes of up to 256 bytes. By virtue of its versatile hardware, the DA14581UNDB-P can be used both as a transmitter and a receiver, and supports data rates up to 1 Mbps. It can be utilized with any external Bluetooth low energy device and supports a wide variety of BLE profiles including the proprietary Direct Test Mode (DTM). The working principle of the DA14581UNDB-P is based on the Bluetooth low energy Stack, which contains the stack core and protocols that enable applications to communicate on the BLE network. The BLE Stack consists of layers of the physical layer (PHY), the link layer (LL), the host layer (HL) and the application layer (AL). The stack is responsible for providing all necessary functions for devices to communicate on the network via basic PHY and LL functions, such as transmission and reception of data, and communication setup, as well as implementing host and application specific functions. The PHY layer is responsible for the physical transmission of packets over the air. It provides functions such as modulation, coding, frequency hopping and power control. The LL layer provides the basic data link, network and authentication services required by all BLE applications. It is responsible for setting up the connection, controlling packet transmission and reception, and for the authentication and link key generation. The HL layer provides services to higher layers, such as packet routing, device discovery, and packet assembly and disassembly. The AL layer contains user applications as well as specific profile implementations. These applications and profiles are responsible for customizing and optimizing BLE communication between devices.To provide a comprehensive solution for low power Bluetooth low energy application development, the DA14581UNDB-P is supplied with an intuitive software package, which consists of a Bluetooth low energy stack and a range of user-friendly tools for configuration, debugging and analysis. The easy to use graphical user interface enables users to quickly set up and modify application parameters, and simplifies the process of developing and debugging low power Bluetooth low energy applications. The associated documentation extensively explains the Bluetooth low energy standard and provides detailed instructions on how to use the different software tools.The DA14581UNDB-P is a powerful and cost-effective solution for developing and testing low power Bluetooth low energy applications. It provides a complete integrated platform consisting of integrated hardware and software components, to enable rapid development, demonstration and evaluation of Bluetooth low energy applications.
