Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DAC) serve as a bridge between digital data and the analog systems which are used in many applications. The most common use of DACs is in measuring, controlling and taking data from analog systems, including temperature and pressure sensors. The DAC08CSZ is a versatile and highly accurate digital to analog converter which is suitable for industrial and scientific applications.

The DAC08CSZ is a 8-bit digital to analog converter which supports both single and multiplexed input modes. In single input mode, the DAC08CSZ accepts 8-bit data words ranging between 0 and 255, with a resolution of 0.5mV. In multiplexed input mode, multiple 8-bit words can be converted with an accuracy of 0.1mV. The DAC08CSZ also provides a wide range of voltage inputs, from –3V to 15V.

The DAC08CSZ features two output pins which can be set to source or sink current. The output pins can be configured for either a linear voltage output or pulsed voltage output. The linear voltage output allows for precise voltage ranging from 0 to 8 mV, depending on the maximum output current. If a higher voltage is required, the output current can be increased up to 20mA. The pulsed voltage output can deliver a pulse from 0 to 8 mV within a single cycle.

The DAC08CSZ is designed to provide exceptionally fast response times, with the ability to achieve a full digital-to-analog conversion within 2 µs. This makes it ideal for applications where rapid updating of the analog output is required, such as in motor control systems.
