Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers (in short, BRs) are widely used in the fields of power electronics, an area of electronics engineering dedicated to the efficient and dependable conversion of electrical energy. Bridge rectifiers are four-terminal core components of power supplies, voltage stabilizers, and other power-conversion systems and they possess the capability to direct and rectify AC to DC. The DBLS156GHRDG is a widely used bridge rectifier with a maximum forward voltage at 25A and a peak forward surge current of 200A. In addition, the DBLS156GHRDG has repetitive peak reverse voltage of 1500V and peak inverse voltage of 2600V. This bridge rectifier is made up of metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors or MOSFETs, with a maximum power dissipation of 590W at 25℃ and has a storage temperature range of -25℃ to +150℃. The basic principle behind a BR is the control of the number of junctions for the maximum V-I current used in the electrical device. It has two active semiconductor junctions connected in a reverse-parallel configuration, forming a R-D connection with its two main terminals, referred to as cathodes, connected in a common ground. The other two terminals, known as anodes, are connected in the same reverse-parallel configuration with the two cathodes. This provides the basic circuit for the DBLS156GHRDG bridge rectifier.The DBLS156GHRDG works on the same principle as any other BR by controlling the number of junctions and the V-I current. When an AC current is applied to the bridge, the anode nodes will become either positive or negative in order to make a forward path through the MOSFETs.
