The DC059A-A Evaluation Board is a state-of-the-art stand-alone DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPS, designed to provide a comprehensive solution to the need for quick, efficient, and reliable testing of a wide range of power supply and system designs regarding product innovation. The DC059A-A Evaluation Board can operate with power levels ranging from 1.2V to 5V, and is able to supply up to 600 watts of power. It has a unique versatility that allows for power from a variety of sources such as a personal computer’s USB port, a 12V DC car battery, or any other DC power source. The board includes two SMPS input stages, a Voltage-Mode Boost Converter (VMBC), and a Pre-Regulator (PR). The VMBC and PR are both capable of providing power output of up to 600 Watts. The PR allows for stable operation of the VMBC at varying input voltages, while the VMBC provides high efficiency power conversion with low output ripple. Additionally, the DC059A-A Evaluation Board features a control circuit which enables it to operate in either a manual or auto mode.
