DC093A is a versatile Evaluation board, it is an off-line switched mode power supply (SMPS) in DC/DC & AC/DC configuration. The board is comprised of a standard building-block of components and is suitable for both prototyping and product development.
The DC093A board has been designed as a 360 W DC-20 Vdc power supply. It is intended for use in a wide range applications, like printers, computer systems and air conditioning. Additionally, it can also be used for supply current for inverters and power supplies.
The board features a hybrid topology which combines a buck-boost controller with an isolated 36Vdc/20Vdc secondary topology. This combination gives the board a high efficiency point at light load, a low output ripple and a stabilization at low or high line fluctuations. The working principle of DC093A is based on a primary-side controlled buck-boost topology. It includes an input from the mains, an active power factor correction (PFC) circuit, an active clamping rectifier and two front-end PWM stages.
