The DC094A evaluation board is used to evaluate a variety of DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) switch-mode power supplies. It is an adjustable variable voltage circuit that enables engineers to conveniently measure and customize the rated output voltage and frequency of the power supply under test. The board provides a user-friendly platform for testing both power control and performance parameters of power supplies.

The circuit board includes a full wide range of input source voltage selection, monitored by an embedded voltage supervisor. This supervisor will disconnect the power supply in case of overvoltage conditions, such as fault conditions or current overloads. The output voltages and frequency of the supply can be adjusted by the user through a number of user-friendly terminal blocks. Output voltage and frequency can also be monitored through a wide range of TTL and analog meters.

The DC094A board also includes a line frequency compensation circuit which helps to maintain a constant output frequency, regardless of variations in input line voltage. This feature helps to avoid short cycling of the fuse when power is interrupted, as is common with other boards.

To further improve the performance of the power supply, the DC094A board includes a current limiting circuit which limits the output current to a predetermined value, should the power supply become overload. Protection from over voltage and short circuits is also provided. The board is compatible with a wide variety of power supplies, including AC/DC, DC/DC, and switching-mode power supplies.
