DC1529A-B is a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) evaluations board developed by Linear Technology Corporation. This eval board enables engineers to quickly evaluate the performance of the devices without having to design their own circuit boards. The DC1529A-B integrates a highly integrated digital-to-analog converter with the LTC proprietary mixed-signal signal chain, which combines high-resolution digital-to-analog conversion with high-performance analog blocks.
The DC1529A-B offers users a wide range of features and benefits, including a high accuracy differential output voltage, low-noise performance, a temperature-stable reference, and user adjustable fine trim control with the on-board SPI interface. It allows users to adjust the output offset voltage and full-scale range as well as the gain and offset accuracy across the full temperature range of -10°C to +70°C after an initial calibration. Theoretical non-linearity is between 0.0005% and 0.0015% over the 0°C to 70°C temperature range. Differential conversion gain or offset accuracy is 0.5mV, 5ppm/°C maximum over temperature.
The DC1529A-B has a gain step size of 0.5mV (full-scale) per step and allows users individually to calibrate their outputs digitally in the range 2V and 10V. The programming of these parameters is achieved through a built-in SPI control and status register. The DC1529A-B also features a sleep mode for power savings when not in use. This also considerably reduces the power consumption.
The DC1529A-B also integrates several other features including a temperature-stable reference, a high accuracy differential output voltage, thermal protection of the devices, high voltage protect and status feedback via SPI control. The high voltage protection ensures linearity over a wide range of supply voltages. The built-in thermal protection prevents the device from operating above a certain temperature. The audio performance of the board is further enhanced by the addition of a low-pass filter.
