DC1939A is an evaluation board manufactured by National Semiconductor Corporation. DC1939A is designed to evaluate performance of different switching topologies in power supply applications. It is best suited for applications such as AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies, motor control applications, and LED lighting applications.

The evaluation board implements a single stage switch mode power supply. It consists of a power switch (FET), an inductor, a rectifier and a capacitor to form the final output. The output of the evaluation board can be programmed by adjusting the frequency and duty cycle of the FET drive signal. This allows DC1939A to be used to evaluate a variety of switching topologies.

The output voltage of the evaluation board can be programmed from 0.5V to 40V. The output power is 16 Watts. The input voltage can range from 8V to 40V. The board is protected against current and voltage fluctuations. It also has protection against short circuits, thermal shut down, and ESD protection. The DC1939A is also compliant with EMI andEMP requirements.

The control system of the DC1939A consists of a high-voltage linear regulator, a microcontroller, and a gate driver. The linear regulator is used to adjust the voltage output of the FET. The microcontroller is used to adjust the frequency and duty cycle of the FET drive signal and to monitor the output of the board. The gate driver is used to control the switching of the FET.
