The DC2006A-B application field and working principle is commonly used in off-line SMPS designs. With its low power consumption and high performance switching regulation it is suitable for many different low power applications.The working principle of the DC2006A-B is based on a fixed-frequency, synchronous, rectified PWM regulator. The device operates in continuous conduction mode (CCM), with the switching frequency determined by an internal oscillator. This provides both good power efficiency and good ripple rejection.The converter operates over an input voltage range of 2V to 18V. The maximum output current is 0.5A with an adjustable output voltage of 0.7V to 24V. The device operates from a single 5V supply for both its inputs and outputs. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C.In order to provide isolation from the supply, the DC2006A-B incorporates an isolated switching regulator topology typically referred to as a \'flyback\' regulator. This ensures that the input is galvanically isolated from the output, while also providing the device with a low input-output voltage differential.The DC2006A-B is capable of providing either a regulated output voltage, or a regulated current, depending on the type of feedback circuit used.
