The DC293A-A is an evaluation board designed for off-line AC/DC or DC/DC power supply applications. It features an adjustable output voltage and current limit that permits precise control of a wide range of AC or DC input power levels. Additionally, the board offers a wide frequency range of 20kHz to 1.5MHz, allowing the voltage output to be adjusted over the full range of an AC input mains supply. The DC293A-A can be used to evaluate the application of step-down (buck) converters, flyback converters, forward converters, and half bridge (Push-Pull) converters.
The board provides a power supply voltage of 11 – 16VDC, an output voltage of 0 – 30VDC and an output current that can be limited to 0.5A or greater. Additionally, the board features an input voltage range of 45 - 250VAC. The DC293A-A also has a programmable timer, enabling the user to set the time for the output voltage to rise or fall when the load or input power changes. This feature also permits the user to set a period of output voltage hold-up time in case the input power is lost or interrupted.
The board employs a synchronous rectifier topology, which allows the board to operate effectively across the full frequency range, while still maintaining low efficiency losses. Additionally, the board offers selectable constant frequency, current mode and voltage mode control modes, enabling the user to select the desired topology to obtain the optimal performance. The DC293A-A also features an integrated voltage detector and a low voltage lock-out protection circuit that prevents the output voltage from exceeding a specified safety margin.
