The DC368A evaluation and demonstration board is a compact yet complete platform for power system applications. It is designed to provide a robust yet flexible platform for powering off-the-shelf (OTS) industrial systems and is compatible with multiple digital communication protocols. It is also highly cost effective, easy to use and provides excellent performance.

The DC368A board is based on the Texas Instruments TMS380C24X digital signal processor (DSP). This processor features the high performance, 24-bit MCU core architecture, with an integrated dual-core 32-bit floating-point co-processor that can operate up to 40MHz in DSP mode. This processor provides plenty of processing power for controlling power system applications, such as power monitors, motor controls, sensors, inverters, and bi-directional power systems. The processor also supports the Texas Instruments Open-Source Platform (OPP) for developing custom applications.

In addition to the DSP core and co-processor, the DC368A board also features several additional peripherals. It has a motor driver stage for controlling the power system, two differential digital inputs for connecting digital sensors, a 16-bit analog to digital (A/D) converter for capturing analog signals, and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for controlling system functions.

In order to make the DC368A board modular and easy to use, Texas Instruments provides several chipboards that can be applied to the board. These chipboards can be used for a variety of different analog and digital inputs and outputs. For example, the PLC board has inputs and outputs for connecting digital sensors, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, and other analog devices. The Motor Driver Board can be used to control motors, solenoids, and servo actuators. The Analog to Digital Board (ADB) can be used to capture analog signals and convert them into digital signals, while the Digital Input/Output Board (DIO) can be used to control a range of digital systems.

The DC368A board is also compatible with multiple digital communication protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, ProfiNet, and EtherNet/IP. It also supports the TI Open-Source Platform for custom application development, which makes it easier for users to build custom applications for their power systems.
