Solid State Relays
DC400D20 (Solid State Relays) is a type of electrical switch that instruments the control of a large current output via a relatively small signal. In general terms, an electrically isolating chip called a photosensitive semiconductor, has its electronic properties changed when illuminated by a light source, thus forming a series contact switch. The DC400D20 Solid State Relay allows for the control of large electric currents with a small GUI or verbal instruction. This makes it ideal for automation applications, industrial and household devices, and those requiring lots of current such as construction, agricultural, and commercial tool applications.
Working Principle
The working principle of DC400D20 Solid State Relay is based on the opto-isolator, wherein light is used to create an electrically insulated electrical connection between a pair of interlocked conductors. The opto-isolator has two terminals, an input (the control circuit terminal or the trigger voltage terminal) and an output (the load terminal). The control circuit terminal of the opto-isolator is connected to a voltage which when applied to it, lights up the internal LED and when the light reaches the detector, it causes the charge carriers in the semiconductor to become more mobile and thus creates a low-voltage electric current.
This current is connected to the load terminals of the opto-isolator and it produces a large electrical current to control the load when the voltage is applied. The DC400D20 Solid State Relay usually operates at higher voltage and higher current than other types of relays. This higher amperage and voltage allow the Solid State Relay to maintain a secure and reliable connection throughout the entire process, even in areas with high humidity and extreme temperatures.
Application Field
One common application of the DC400D20 Solid State Relay is in industrial power control devices. From a basic electrical source, the relay can switch large currents at high voltages. This could include switching between phases, to control the starting and stopping of a motor or a process.
Using relays can also provide greater safety and security for the control system which makes them ideal for industrial use. DC400D20 Solid State Relays can be used in place of regular mechanical relays in areas that are exposed to high levels of moisture, vibration, and extreme temperatures. This makes the DC400D20 more dependable than mechanical relays in many situations.
The DC400D20 is also used in household appliances and devices requiring exceptionally high current or voltage to control their operation, along with automation and robotics applications. Automation and robotics systems typically require higher voltage and current in order to energize and control their movement and operation.
The DC400D20 Solid State Relay is now used in many areas of modern life such as agriculture, manufacturing, automotive, construction, and commercial tool applications. It is a major component of the automated control systems which are used in almost every industry today.
