Solid State Relays

DC400D20 (Solid State Relays) is a type of electrical switch that instruments the control of a large current output via a relatively small signal. In general terms, an electrically isolating chip called a photosensitive semiconductor, has its electronic properties changed when illuminated by a light source, thus forming a series contact switch. The DC400D20 Solid State Relay allows for the control of large electric currents with a small GUI or verbal instruction. Working Principle

The working principle of DC400D20 Solid State Relay is based on the opto-isolator, wherein light is used to create an electrically insulated electrical connection between a pair of interlocked conductors. The opto-isolator has two terminals, an input (the control circuit terminal or the trigger voltage terminal) and an output (the load terminal). The control circuit terminal of the opto-isolator is connected to a voltage which when applied to it, lights up the internal LED and when the light reaches the detector, it causes the charge carriers in the semiconductor to become more mobile and thus creates a low-voltage electric current.

This current is connected to the load terminals of the opto-isolator and it produces a large electrical current to control the load when the voltage is applied.
