DC418A is an off-line switching power supply (SMPS) evaluation board designed for high-efficiency DC/DC and AC/DC converters. It is widely used in applications from general purpose to power-critical ones.
The DC418A board integrates a standard DC/DC converter module (PG-DIP-6 package) with several external components. The DC418A board is often used in combination with a power supply module such as the TDK-Lambda LUS-600 series or the TDK-Lambda LDS-300 series.
The basic working principle of the DC418A board is to accept an AC input and then efficiently convert it into a regulated DC output. The board contains several components that are necessary for the conversion process. These include an AC/DC converter, a power factor correction (PFC) circuit, a switching regulator, and an output voltage regulator (buck regulator).
