RF Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards are widely used in the radio frequency industry for measurement of signal characteristics and debugging of radio communication systems. DC539A, developed by Anav Associates, has the capability of testing and developing UHF/VHF and LP-FSK receivers and transceivers with three isotopically offset antennas. The DC539A is based on an open architecture platform, with component parts assembled on a motherboard, and supported by a back side main processor. Its main components are a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) waveform generator, a signal conditioning amplifier, a benchmark vector signal analyzer, a power amplifier, an interactive signal excitation circuit, and a switching network. The DDS provides a single-tone output frequency, amplitude modulation/control, as well as pulse waveform scaling and output patterns for wideband signal propagation. The signal amplifier is an operational amplifier with fully programmable gain, bandwidth, phase, and output impedance. The vector signal analyzer is able to accurately measure the signal frequency, signal 1/Q and magnitude 1/Δ.
