DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS
The DC823B-B is an evaluation board that is designed to evaluate the performance of a range of DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. The board is designed to demonstrate the capability of the specified SMPS devices in a realistic environment. The board is populated with the requested SMPS design and the necessary ancillary components for proper operation.The board includes a comprehensive range of trimmable componets which allow for the easy matching of the device to the operating conditions. The board is also designed to take up the least possible space in order to minimize the board size and so allowing for easier operation in a crowded laboratory environment.The DC823B-B has been designed to operate in the 0-40V range and is capable of handling up to 10A of DC/DC power and up to 200W of AC/DC power. The board also has the ability to operate at temperatures of -40°C up to +125°C. The board is also designed to enable testing of multiple boards in parallel or split power tests, allowing more realistic tests to be undertaken.The performance of the DC823B-B can bee evaluated in a number of ways such as by measuring the output current, voltage and current ripple as well as the input power and frequency. This allows for the optimization of the design to the operating conditions. The board can also be used for stress testing and fault simulation, allowing the engineer to design with confidence.The operation of the DC823B-B is relatively simple and consists of connecting the board to the power source, connecting the load, and adjusting the trim components to the desired parameters. The board also has a number of fault input pins which allows for fault simulation.
