It offers a broad range of applications in industrial, automotive, consumer, communication, and medical electronic systems, including Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits.The DC826C-A evaluation board is based on Philips 826 microcontroller integrated circuit (PIC) architecture and is made up of a set of eight controllers with a maximum frequency of 32 Megahertz (MHz). Each controller can be configured to use either the standard eusart (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) baud rate or faster 3-wire Synchro Slave Interface (SSIF) communication. All of the eight controller channels are connected to dual differential analog switches for signal conditioning, three independent 10-bit A/D converters for measuring signals and two 32-bit timers/counters to measure timing and events. This evaluation board offers maximum flexibility for designers of data acquisition and control systems. The working principle of this board is relatively simple. It begins by connecting the board to the target system (for which it will be used) via the 826 controller. This is usually done via the serial or parallel ports. The controller’s supply voltage can be either 3.3V or 5V and the board’s input voltage can range from 0V to 10V, depending on the requirements of the target system.Once the board is connected to the target system, the eight controller channels are enabled with the appropriate configuration settings. The controller then receives the input voltage from the eight analog switches and feeds it to the signal conditioning circuitry. From here, the signal is converted into digital signals and sent to the A/D converters. This signals is then sent to the dual 32-bit timers/counters and used to measure timing and events.The DC826C-A evaluation board makes it possible for designers to easily measure digital signals, time events, and capture analog signals without the need for manual wiring or programming.
