Working principle

The basic working principle of a DE1A-9V is quite simple. The device consists of an electromagnet, an armature, and a set of contact points. The contact points then allow for the current to flow uninterruptedly, providing power to the device being connected.

When the current is switched off, the armature is no longer attracted to the electromagnet and springs back away from it, therefore breaking the contact points and interrupting current flow. The current can then be deliberately turned off or on again with the flick of a switch.
