DFB2560 Application Field and Working Principle

DFB2560 Working Principle

The DFB2560 diode bridge rectifier works based on the four diodes’ construction diagram in a bridge pattern. In this configuration, a 120V/240V AC power source is connected across the two incoming outside terminals, while the other two inward terminals are connected to the output load. When an AC voltage is applied on the two outer terminals, diodes 1 and 4 become forward biased and current enters the output load connected on the two inner terminals, and charges the output capacitor. Meanwhile, diodes 2 and 3 become reverse biased, and block the flow of current in the reverse direction.

At every point in time, one pair of diodes is forward biased and the other pair is reverse biased. This alternating pattern allows the flow of current in only one direction and hence produces DC, with a peak voltage up to 1.4 times the value of the input voltage. This voltage is then smoothed using an LC filter circuit (or a choke) and regulated using a zener diode.

In summary, the DFB2560 diode bridge rectifier takes alternating current (AC) from a source and converts it into direct current (DC), which can then be used as a power source for different types of loads.
