DG202BAK/883 is a member of the DG202 family of CMOS monolithic quadruple single-pole/double-throw analog switches. These switches feature very low on-resistance (Ron) while allowing both AC and DC signals to pass. On-resistance is usually less than 20 Ω with a ± 7V single supply, very low leakage currents (typically less than 1 nA) and fast switching speed with tON typically less than 5 ns and tOFF typically less than 4 ns. Additional features include immunity to latch-up.
The DG202BAK/883 is available in a plastic SOT-23 package, making them ideal for many consumer and industrial applications, such as data communications, test and measurement, instrumentation, consumer audio and video switching, and motor control.
The DG202BAK/883 contains four independent switches. Each switch consists of two CMOS transmission gates, and completely independent logic control of each of the two switch sections. The switches operate from logic supplies of ± 5V to ± 15V and feature two independent logic inputs and two independent logic outputs.
The DG202BAK/883 features zero-crossing on-resistances, low resistance at low voltage, high input resistance and low power consumption at 40mW. The wide operating temperature range of 0˚C to 70˚C, along with the low power consumption and low on-resistance, makes it well suited for high speed data and logic control circuits.
The DG202BAK/883 has numerous applications including signal routing, signal isolation and signal switching. It can be used as a single pole double throw (SPDT) switch or as a 4 channel MUX/Demux. When used as an analog switch, the DG202BAK/883 can be used to selectively pass signals from one source to two destinations, or two sources to a single destination. When used as a multiplexer/demultiplexer, the DG202BAK/883 can be used to route single signal from multiple sources to a single destination, or route a single signal from one source to multiple destinations.
The working principle of the DG202BAK/883 is based on the CMOS Transmission Gate concept. A logical signal is provided to the control input which is then used to control the analog signal at the output. When the logical signal is logic ‘0’, the switch is turned off and the output is in a high impedance state. When the control input is logic ‘1’, the switch is turned on and the analog signal is routed to the output.
